i love my boy

Ollie and his Grandma Greco

He used to love playing in the leaves at the park.  Even more-so than the playground equipment sometimes.

My little mouse.  He is such a cheese fanatic.

Adventure: On the Farm

He is in love with tractors.  Every morning when he wakes we ask what his dreams were about.  About 99% of the time he says "tractors. goats. chickens."  My little farmer.

Another day at Ardenwood.  This time Ollie got to feed and touch the chickens, which he loved!  We even got to see a chicken lay her eggs, which greatly confused my little boy, but now he thinks it is the coolest thing ever!

What I Would Wear Today...

Happy Saturday!  On Saturdays, I always crave a date night, just like I used to get all those Saturdays before having a kid!  Now we might just need to bring out little guy out with us for a casual date night, maybe for a nice dinner?

Blue And Black Heels (aren't these gorgeous?)

Adventure: Memorial Day

He was in love with these peaches!  He probably ate like 8!

This might have been the highlight of his day.  He loves tractors!

Ollie's own little log cabin at Grandma & Papa's!  He is so spoiled!
Yeah, yeah, yeah.  I know that Memorial Day was awhile ago.  I never said I posted things promptly on this blog!  But yes, two months ago on Memorial Day, my little family took a little drive over the Brentwood for some fruit picking fun.   As we are in a nasty drought this year, there wasn't a lot of fruit to be had.  In fact, the first place we stopped at, we waited in line for quite awhile only to find out that there were no more cherries on the trees, and they were closing down shop.  Finally we found a peach orchard in a hidden corner of town, and had a blast.  A $55 worth of peaches blast.  Yes, that is way to much to spend on peaches but we couldn't stop ourselves from picking more and more, it was all so lovely.  And Ollie loved grazing on the whole peaches whiles Jason and I climbed trees to our hearts delight.  Then we headed back to my parents for a bbq and some playhouse building.  Happy belated Memorial Day!

If I Had A Million Dollars: Men's Edition

I went to the outlets last week looking for a vest for my Oliver to wear to church, but I kept finding great clothes for my husband instead.  I love the fact that my Jason could care less what he wears, and therefore I get to pick out whatever I like for him and know he will wear it gladly.  Here are some favorite men pieces I would love to buy for my husband.

Adventure: Quarry Lakes

A few weeks ago we had a free Saturday, so we thought we would check out Quarry Lakes in Fremont.  We were pleasantly surprised.  We got there an hour before swimming opened, so we walked around the orchards, and they were lovely.  You can graze and pick as you wish, but it didn't seem like a lot of fruit was in season right now.  The swimming area was clean and uncrowded, much different from the lakes we usually frequent.  What a great, relaxing day of swimming with my boys!

A Lil Bit Of Humor

We are preparing to start our Star Wars movie fest with Oliver.  He is so excited.  He already is so pumped by any picture of Darth Vader or Yoda.  He can even pronounce both their names perfectly.  Strangely enough he has a hard time pronouncing Chewbacca.  Weird, right?

I Love My Boy: Keeping Busy

I think Ollie drank 80% of my milkshake and 90% percent of Jason's root beer float at Red Robin.  Thirsty little guy.

Our little friend Emma has arthritis, so we joined in on the Walk to Cure Arthritis in Livermore to support the little lady.  That's her in the front with the balloon.  She's adorable!
Poor little Ollie had to go to the Emergency Room via an ambulance, or "NeeNu NeeNu" as he calls them.  He had a bad case of the Croup, but is all better now.  What a champ.

Toddler Time

This is such a classic Ollie face.  He makes it all the time.  My crazy angel.

Ollie loves watching the chickens run free
Almost every Tuesday Ollie and I go to Ardenwood for Toddler Time.  It's amazing how much better Ollie knows farm animals now that he gets to see them and feed them every week.  This little dude especially loves hearing the Peacock's squawk.  He giggles every time, and says "moe" (translation=more) when they stop squawking.

Inspiration: Kids Party

Ollie recently went to his good friend Izzy's 2nd Birthday party, and ever since he has insisted he is 2 just like Izzy.  I tell him that he is 1, but will turn 2 in a few months and ask him what type of party he wants.  Then you never know what is going to come out his mouth: "Tractors." "Peacocks." "NeeNuNeeNu" (translation: firetrucks).  He's got me thinking...

Hakone Gardens

Ollie and his grandparents

Jason's grandparents came into town a few weeks ago so all of us stay-at-home mom's got together with our broods to take them for a day in San Jose area.  We enjoyed picnics and playgrounds at a park, then explored Hakone Gardens.  They were beautiful, and Ollie loved all the lizards, turtles, and fish.

Dinner Time

We like to go to the park right after Jason gets off work, and sometimes when we are driving home we get so hungry seeing all the delicious restaurants in our area, that we lose our desire to go home and cook what i had planned on for dinner.  That was the scenario a few weeks ago when we drove by a new restaurant, Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot.  It's a fun place as the soup base acts like fondue and you cook all the meat and veggies in the boiling liquid.  As a novelty, it was great, but I wasn't in love with the taste of it.

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July!  I am craving throwing a 4th of July party to sit out and  eat sweets and watch the fireworks!  Here's how to throw the party:
Turkish blankets to lay out on the lawn.  White party dress.  Red, white and blue cupcake holders.  Cake and cookies on festive plates.  Blue mason jars for ice cold lemonade.  Popcorn, a necessity for watching fireworks.

Adventure: Ardenwood with Izzy

Ollie and Izzy, checking out the chicks

Izzy is adventurous and wild.  Ollie is whiny and reserved.  The two most opposite kids you will ever meet, but Ollie is still obsessed with Izzy.

Awhile ago, Ollie and I joined our friends Kaitie, Izzy and baby Emily at Ardenwood Farm in Fremont for Toddler Time.  The kids got to make cornmeal and feed the goats.  Then we walked around and enjoyed a picnic at the beautiful farm.
