Things Ollie Says...

Attempting to make a peace sign in front of the petroglyphs at Chitactac-Adams Park
-A few weeks ago I asked Oliver if he wanted help putting his ride-on ATV on the coffee table.  He replied "No my muscles can do it.  My muscles is huge!"

-Ollie was getting creative with his primary songs, singing "Jesus wants me for a tow truck" and "Jesus want me for a sun butt"

-He has recently liked to make his monster truck play the banjo.  Little redneck monster truck.

Wilder Ranch

While camping with my parents at Mount Madonna (one of our favorite things to do), we headed out to Wilder Ranch in Santa Cruz for a stroll along the ocean.  We love this place!  It is a nice easy walk down to a dripping, fern roofed cave and beach area.  And the views are gorgeous!  There is always an enormous aloe vera plant with little "rooms' for Oliver to run around in and play house!  We of course also had to enjoy lunch as Phil's Fish Market, and some pie at Gizdich Ranch.  We love camping!

Happy 30th Birthday Ladies!

Kimmie, Mikayla, Michelle & I
To celebrate the fact that the three of us ladies are turning 30, (or have unfortunately already turned 30 as in my case), we all met up at Michelle's house in Roseville for a girls weekend!  I rarely get to see these ladies as we all live far away, but have been friends since Middle School.  We painted ceramics at a little art studio, and had an amazing dinner at Paul Martin's.  It was so great to talk & hang out with my old friends again!  Happy 30th!

Hiking in Sunol

When Ollie plays this game he always counts "1...2...3...10!"  He just does not have the patience to make it through all the numbers!

Fields of Lupines
My mother in law leads hikes for the local Boy Scout troop and invited us to come along.  We hiked a beautiful way into Little Yosemite at Sunol Regional Park.  I have never seen so many incredible wildflowers there before!  The kids had fun rock climbing and looking for little waterfalls, and Oliver had fun throwing rocks into the water and playing with his grandparents.  It was a beautiful day!

Day in San Francisco

A few weeks ago we met up with our friend Kristine and her new boyfriend Thomas in San Francisco.  We had to have a bowl of clam chowder at Fisherman's Wharf, as cliche as that is, then checked out old the vintage arcade games at Musee Mecanique. It was really cool, although we were shocked by the games that show someone being beheaded and opium dens, but loved the farting cowboy game.  Afterwards we headed into Japantown for a yummy crepe shaped like a kitten (only in Japantown does that not sound strange), then had Eritrean food at Assab.  It was so good!

Visits from the Mickelsens

Picnic at Sycamore Grove

Loard's Ice Cream with Kristen, Kaleb, Annika, Lindsey, Sadie, Haley, Brent & Jozie Mae
A few weeks ago my sister Kristen came to visit from Idaho with her family.  Unfortunately I only got to see her two days of her visit as I had pink eye.  Worst timing ever for pink eye!  But nonetheless it was great to see them!  My nieces and nephews were entertaining as always!

Adventure: Mendocino

Holy Crap!  The storm was fierce at Jughandle!

Fort Ross

The path to Schooner Gulch was ridiculous!  It was a friggen river, the storm was so intense!

The view from our room!

I am in love with Mendocino!  For an early anniversary/valentines day trip, my parents watched Oliver while Jason and I headed up the coast to Mendocino area.  The one catch was that there was a crazy storm that weekend!  We didn't have electricity the entire time we were there!  As in, the only light we had was a little flashlight and our fireplace.  As in, lots of restaurants were closed because the storm was so bad.  It was a little crazy, but a big adventure!  And so dang beautiful!  We stayed at the Heritage House Inn, right on the ocean.  Probably the fanciest hotel with the most stunning ocean views that I have ever stayed at!  And despite the lack of electricity and the fact that I got the flu on the final day there and was throwing up all night long, we had a great weekend!
