October: Santa Monica Pier

On the way home from LA we hit up the Santa Monica Pier, just because we have never been there before.  The water was warm and lovely, which was nice because we are used to the frigid Northern California waves.
What a great trip.  Why do we have to go home to real life?

Things Ollie Says...

Back in January I had to have an emergency appendectomy, which was less than pleasant.  Oliver was very sweet and concerned for me.  A few days after my surgery he asked me, "Mommy, how do you feel today?"  I replied that I didn't feel all that good.  He then told me "Well at least you look pretty" (Which I assure you was a lie).
Sometimes he can be so sweet.

October: Disneyland

I'm so mad this is the only picture I took of the whole family!

He was SO excited when we gave him this Ewok!

My brother Eric and his family and my parents met us at Disneyland for three whole days in the parks!  It was nonstop fun!  Oliver loved it! We didn't take a lot of pictures as we were so busy the whole time, but holy cow it was great!  Thank you family for meeting us there!

October: Los Angeles Farmers Market

The Walruses

After we camped at Pinnacles, we headed down south to the Los Angeles Farmers market for some awesome food, and the reminder that I never want to live in Los Angeles.  Holy traffic through town and rich people.

If I had a million dollars: A day at the park

Holy cow I am sick of all this rain (and thunder and lightning as is happening outside my window right now).  All I want is one nice, dry day to relax at the park with lil' dude.

A shirt because they frown on you going topless to the park.
Good read about hippies.
Toy to entertain the youngster.
Bag to lug around all my stuff.
A beautiful ring.  No more accessories needed.
Warm coat because I'm freezing if it is under 72'.
Over the knee boots.
Blanket to relax on.
Jeans because I try not to wear my sweats out of the house.  Unless I'm going to Wal Mart that is.
Great Harvest Bread because I am addicted.

October: Pinnacles

Tired from a day of hiking
On our way down to Disneyland, our little family stopped for a day at Pinnacles National Park to camp and check out the bat caves.  Holy crap it was awesome!  Great hiking!  Awesome spelunking!  Good campsite!  Yummy camp food!  Oliver loved the Ranger talk and even went up to get his autograph!  Seriously, such a wonderful experience!

Things Ollie Says...

Back in October we went on a trip to Disneyland with my parents and brother Eric's family.  His son Wyatt and Oliver really hit it off, and each day as we would drive into the park, they would have a little verbal smack down.  Normally I frown on cutting insults, but dude these boys were hilariously creative.
Part of Oliver's verbal abuse to his cousin: "I'm going to splash water on you and then an eagle is going to come down and kiss you.  I'm going to hit you with a dolphin and then the airplanes are going to come down and get you.  Then a sharky is going to brush your hair.  With a stick.  Then eat you for breakfast."

October: Hunting for a pumpkin

Back in October our little family headed to Half Moon Bay's Arata Farms to pick up the perfect pumpkin.  Oliver insisted on wearing his dinosaur tail the whole day.  They had this incredibly difficult maze there, complete with a golden pumpkin bearing Centaur.  It was impressive, and so much fun!  I love Halloween!
